    One it won't fit.

    two you can't attach one

    three it'll be too big

four maybe in 5-10 years when HD and portable tech has advanced

although it would be much cheaper than MS :D unless thats Sony's game...

You can get pretty small HD's now as used in the likes of the ipod HD models. HD's can also connect via usb so it would be possible if programmed into the PSP.

Personally I think that it would be a good idea. If you are away for the week then you could take your 80bg HD with all your fave shows/films/music on and be able to swap the content over on your PSP's pro duo card once you're bored of what is on there.

I'm not suggesting that it would be something to carry around attached to the PSP as you use it.

As I stated it would be for use when you were say away on holiday or on a business trip etc. It's a small device that you can pack away and use to transfer stuff to you PSP when you get bored with the content of your 1GB card.

oh now I get you.....nice idea but what could you put on a HD?

I suppose more music and films?....oh and films at an amzing quality, as we wouldn't be limited by 512mb/1gb......(I'm aware of 2 gb MS, but they are a rip off. You can buy another PSP for some of the prices quoted)

The whole point of using the HD as I described would be so that you could carry more films, other video, music and pictures.

Say if you're a Simpsons fan then you could have several seasons of the Simpsons on there or you could cram a day or 2 of 24 on there. You could also keep your CD collection on the HD - how someone would use it is down to the individual in the same way as it's up to the individual what they have on their Pro Duo card in the first place.

You can use the iriver h300 series as a poratble HD to store files which can be transfered to/from the psp. It comes with an attachment so you can connect the usb from psp to the iriver and copy/paste the files. It's usb 1.1 so is pretty slow. Unfortunately my iriver h320 broke but it might be possible to use my ipod photo as a portable hd with the camera connector accessory and a card reader.
