    Hi,
Just returned to dv cam Panasonic GS120 after 3 year lay off.
Got Laptop Celeron 2.4 gig 512 ram.
Got trial verson of Pinnacle version 9. However when I"ve tried to capture direct from camcorder message comes up saying " cannot capture Dv, data rate on drive C reads 2150kps - write 2076 kps.
4444 kps required for dv capture.
Even when re setting to mpeg capture message still same.
    Defragged drive still same.
Captures ok to windows movie maker - but I want the option of storing avi files to convert and put on my pda,
Am condidering an external hard drive , will this allow Pinnacle 9 to be used or shall I stay clear of that program ?

BTW When I used to do the same about 3 years ago with Pinnacle V7 I remember capturing Dv files ok with a lower spec laptop but having lots of crashes and system errors.

    TIA
