Hard Drive Upgrade - Options

I'm really up for replacing the hard drive with a bigger on.

Which is the best manufacturer of 500Gb drive to upgrade with in terms of noise and reliability?

Is Seagate the only one that do a 750Gb drive?

In my opinion the "Hitachi Deskstar 7K500 NCQ 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache" is one of the best for noise. It is around £160 and i have it in my PC. It has been fine so far.

While we are on the subject what is the SATA port for? Is it for future external HDD upgrades?
