    Can anyone recommend a good stand alone hard disk recorder for music. :rolleyes:

    iRiver H120/H140? It has a line in and an in-built mic. I use mine for playback so can't vouch for recording quality.

    I'd consider going to Minidisc, lots now come with mic-in and can upload to PC (Somelimits).

    Also the new 1GB minidisc recorders are on the market which you'll not run out of space with

    £100-£150 ish
