Hard and fast rules to room length for a home cinema room

Distinguished Member
Hey, if you have a room width for your home cinema room fairly set in stone, is their a rule to how LONG the room should be?
For example, if my room is to be approximately 4M.. give or take 20cm.. whats the ideal length for sound & video.
I assume video length will be the MAXIMUM image size possible's throw distance to maximise my projector's contrast.. sound wise I know we normally favour rectangles.
Any thoughts or opinions please?
Also any thoughts on HEIGHT for the home cinema room? I know for acoustics, and for atmos, it can be pretty important.

I'm planning for a potential extension with an architect and obviously the first priority is going to be the home cinema room.
