Happy birthday to you squashed tomatoes and stew, bread and butter in the gutter....happy birthday toooo yoooo. Here's to the next eight years and beyond. :arty:
Are there many members who have been here for the 8 years?
Happy birthday AVF, and thank you for making me spend a bundle since joining your site, and now being ocd with anything to do with cables, connections, and sound
Yeah, I joined about June 2000 and ended up re-registering in Jan 2001 for some strange reason, think I lost my login details, but I have been here that long. I think the first member was Retro but haven't seen him for a while. Things have changed a hell of a lot over the last 8 years, all for the better if you ask me. I remember when there was very few of us here, we even had a Sunday night chat club!
There doesn't seem to be many regular members from before 2004, maybe they are just lurkers and not regular posters though...
God only knows what my post count would be if I joined in 2000...
I'd be up there with Hornydragon that's for sure....
Post count means nothing matey, quality over quantity
That concept seems to have failed me...
Happy 8th Birthday AV FORUMS
Heres to another 8 years....
Happy birthday forums and thank you stu Wright and everyone who makes this the best.
Happy 8th Birthday AVForums!!
I've also been here longer than indicated as I was a member when it was an old fashioned bulletin board.
It's changed quite a lot in that time
I have yet to come accross a better managed well informed forum.
Forum members actually help others very rare if you ask me.
I have enjoyed every minute of my 4/5 years and visit this board more than the rest infact i have stopped visiting some now.
Thank you all and i hjope the good work continues.
Happy Birthday Av forums
Many Happy Returns.
Anyone got one of those cache screenshot pages of what the site originally looked like?
oldest one I could find
Strange phrase "Many happy Returns"
and the last thing we want with AV kit !
Have many more happy days, especially birthdays.
Since the 18th century this has been used as a salutation to offer the hope that a happy day being marked would recur many more times. It is now primarily used on birthdays; prior to the mid 19th century it was used more generally, at any celebratory or festive event.
The first record O can find of it in print is in a letter written by Lady Newdigate in 1789 (published in Newdigate-Newdegate Cheverels in 1898):
"Many happy returns of ye day to us my Dr Love."
Happy Birthday forums! never said that before.
Happy Birthday AV Fourms & long may ye continue
Happy Birthday AVForums
For it's a jolly good forum,
for it's a jolly good forum,
for it's....... ahh forget it.
Happy Birthday AVF!
Because AVForums wouldn't be anything without the people who visit, post, moderate and otherwise contribute, really we should be wishing each other Happy Birthday.
So thank *you* and many happy returns. Literally
I've been lurking here and posting sporadically for many a year now, and learnt and laughed alot.
Well done AVForums and thanks to all who make it happen
Happy birthday to Stuart and the Gang.
