Hi, i was thinking of hanging a manual 92" Optoma screen to a concrete wall. The only think I am concerned about is it falling down. Is there a way I can make it secure by attaching it to a safety cable in case if it falls? Also what would be the best fittings to use here?

Is there not a flaw here in the logic?....

The screen is fixed to the wall by two points....the cable by one. The cable fixing is then going to be under twice as much load as the screen fixings, add to that if a screen fixing fails and it falls you then have to stop it falling as well as take the weight off it just hanging in there.

So for the cable to catch the screen, you need a fixing that is twice as good as the screen fixing. But then if you have a fixing that is that good, then you're better off just using that in the first place.

If you want a horrendously OTT fixing use chemical fixings, I've used them to hang entire floors!

i was thinking of 2 separate safety cables, one at each end to equalise the load.
If i dont use the safety cable, would M8 masonry anchor bolts be enough? the screen is around 11 kg.

    11kg is nothing.
If you use the correct fixings it will never fall off the wall.

I have a 46" plasma hung on a dotndab plasterboarded wall and I am 100% confident that is not going to fall off unless someone is very very determined to take it down.

Yeah, you could hand 11Kg off a plasterboard stud wall with basic fixings.

From what I can see on Google M8 masonry anchor bolts have a safe working load of over 400Kg.
