British remake of Lisa Kudrow's Web Therapy starring and co-written by Stephen Mangan with his brother-in-law Robert Delamere, starts this Wednesday, 8th August at 10pm on Channel 4 ...
Comedy series with an all-star cast and Stephen Mangan as Richard Pitt - an unconventional therapist trying to keep his life, and patients, from falling apart

Stephen Mangan (Episodes, Green Wing) stars as Richard Pitt, a therapist with a chequered professional career, who finds himself at a crossroads in life – a crossroads precipitated by the startling realisation that his life appears to be falling apart at the seams….

Written by Robert Delamere and Stephen Mangan, Hang Ups is an unconventional comedy about an unconventional therapist trying to keep his life, and patients, from falling apart.

Hang Ups presents a family and a society that have the opportunity to be more connected than ever before, but who in reality find themselves utterly disconnected. Time poor and technology rich, self-obsessed and neurotic, image-conscious but insecure, the world is full of hang ups and is it any wonder why…?

Adapted from the Emmy-nominated series Web Therapy, which was created by Lisa Kudrow, Dan Bucatinsky and Don Roos.

The series includes a stellar cast; Richard E. Grant, Jessica Hynes, David Tennant, Katherine Parkinson, Sarah Hadland, Karl Theobald, Celia Imrie, Paul Ritter, Charles Dance, Monica Dolan, Conleth Hill, Lolly Adefope, John Macmillan, Alice Lowe and Harry Lloyd.

Hang Ups is commissioned by Fiona McDermott, Head of Comedy at Channel 4. Rachel Springett is Commissioning Editor for Channel 4. The series is produced by Slam Films. Kevin Loader and Stephen Mangan are Executive Producers. Louise Delamere has produced the series and the Director is Robert Delamere.

Hang Ups airs on 8th August 10pm on Channel 4

If you haven't seen Lisa Kudrows' Web Therapy it's well worth a look. Had some hilarious episodes and the mandatory blooper at the end of each show.
I doubt this can match it but I like Mangan a lot so will give it a go.

Well, gave it a go and if it stays like the opener it's a let down. I laughed out loud once and grinned on occasion for development but it flitted about with naff family life and other badly undeveloped scenarios. I guess it was going for a chaotic humour but it was all too thin.
I'll stick with it for now to see if it grows and actually remembers to be funny.
