Hang then solid blue circle on restart?

After upgrading my HD and replacing my power supply capacitors an old problem has re-emerged.

The box hangs (total freeze, ignores remote + box buttons, no video but sometimes sound) about once a week. Needs power down to reset. When restarting about 2 out of 3 times it comes up stuck in standby with the front display illuminating the full blue circle.

Got impression solid blue circle is supposed to be telling me something but its not turned up on a search though its tough to find a good combination of keywords.

Does this ring any bells with anyone?

To answer my own question this means:

"Learn to do soldering properly and check each capacitor for movement when you've finished."



It also means:

"If you dont then I'm going to wipe your entire hard drive"
