My Vodafone Nokia handset has gone potty. Need a new one.

Anybody recommend a supplier of handsets only please?

Check out the links to phones from this guys website

    http://www.lauriem.plus.com/bargain_basement.html

I think there is a deal on a Nokia 3510i on Vodaphone that gives a cashback and discounted line rental - you actually get paid £10 for having the phone for a year!

If I bought a handset now, could I in the future buy a sim card for a contract as you would normally? Or are they all payg?

In my experience, it is quite difficult to get a SIM-only deal for pay monthly. Most pay monthly deals have a handset included in the upfront monthly cost. So it's kinda pointless having a new handset, if you're going to go monthly and be paying for one anyway.

Only Virgin (I think) do a pay monthly SIM only deal.

If you travel, it is worth buying a SIM-free phone. That enables you to go and buy a PAYG SIM only in another country and use it in your handset. Calling home from a foreign country, using a foreign SIM/Number is always A LOT cheaper than doing so with a British SIM/Number.

If you want to go to a high street store - Phones4U do SIM free handsets.

I bought my 6310i, 6 months old, off Ebay for £80. Still under warranty and in excellent condition.
