Link to UK Nintendo Announcement - Hanabi* Festival
    This is more like it!

Using the Virtual Console for releasing games previously unreleased in the UK - at last! ;)

Also Nintendo using their noggins and managing to do a bit of marketing - linking the release of Super Paper Mario with "Mario Week" on the VC, with a few Mario games being released.

Hope they do something similar when Metroid comes out!

(By the way - "Hana-bi"is a fantastic film, which everyone should check out: Hana-bi (Beat Takeshi Kitano) on IMDB)

They did in the US so no reason why they wouldn't here.

That would be good news. I thought it had only been confirmed for the Japanese VC. I've got the original Japanese N64 game and it is indeed a game worth playing. I remember paying around £60 for it at the time thinking there was no way it would get released outside of Japan.
