The second standalone Star Wars Anthology film will feature a young Han Solo.

Good grief, milking it to death definitely.
Not really surprised by this as it's been long rumoured. Depending on how Rogue One turns out, I'm more in favour of the supposed bounty hunter centric spin off in development. Having said that, Han Solo's past dealings with one Boba Fett will almost certainly feature.
Anthony Ingruber sure does look the part, but could he pull off Ford's swagger?...
Generally, I have mixed feelings on the whole thing. I've nothing against the idea of the Anthology films, but would have sooner Disney waited until VII, VIII and IX are completed. In just under the next two years we have three(!) new films coming. Overkill? We'll see...
I want to see the Ewoks on Love Island
This is one Solo outing too far...
Eh? It's the only Solo outing, unless you're counting the books by Brian Daley.
People love Star Wars, Disney is making the most of its acquisition. What's the alternative to these movies? More Marvel superhero flicks? More Transformers?
We have already had two stand alone Ewok movies and that was two more than was needed.
Maybe a standalone Jar Jar film made by Eli Roth were he is tortured all the way through.
The key to the Han film is definitely with the casting, no one obvious springs to mind maybe Chris Pratt he has already done Han with Starlord.
He is probably two old though I just hope they don't go too young and we end up with someone like Jake Lloyd in the Phantom Menace .... yipeee
That whooshing sound you hear is the Millennium Falcon flying over your head
Big no from me, whoever gets the part is going to be compared to Ford and is on a loser straight away. Boba is in a mask so anyone can play him same goes for Yoda, but doing any of the main human characters wil only lead to negative comparisons IMHOIMHO
Hardly milking it!
Its 10 years since the last star wars film.
I loved those Ewok films when I was little, rented them every time I went to the video shop !
Hummmmmm..understand not does this one...hummmmmmm
Typical! You wait 10 years for a new Star Wars film then 3 come at once.
Milk it im star Wars hungry
Han...milking...tastic , the only real charector from the OT finally gets his time to shine again. Couldn't be more pleased as Harrison created what I expect is the most liked and loved charector from the whole sorry saga . This is a story I really must see from the beginning.
Go for it Disney as I'm 9 years old once more.....oops a little man wee but it works once more . What a great time to love a good old fashioned popcorn movie......Once again.
We're going to Disney World next month (and Universal) and I will ask them the burning question....AV Forums want to know...."What do you think, is this good news or are (you) Disney milking the Star Wars franchise to death"?....
The answer will probably be accompanied by lactateing sounds.
A milking was always on the wall
But will we finally find out how he did the Kessel Run in under 12 parsecs?
Yeah - milking it.
Don't care though - as I will still watch it
As for the original Indy, Harrison Ford, I admire his honesty about his acting finesse, or lack of & he is a clever individual. River Phoenix was a true younger Indy, he even acted some of fords wide-eyed scenes as good as they could possibly be portrayed. Real shame, he was talented, no doubt.
I held my breath in Indy 4 where Indys hat blew towards Shia labeouf & he was going to put it on as in replacement... I let out a big sigh of relief when ford took it from him.
As for a young Han Solo there should be serious teenage issues there i'd imagine, so another actor of Rivers quality will be needed... But whats interesting is we know little of Hans young self.
I reckon that will be what the whole plot will be about. Han obsessing about making the Kessel Run. Consulting people about just how quickly it could be done; recruiting a certain wookie to help him with his cause, cheating at a game of cards with Lando to get his hands on the one ship he thinks he can beat the 12 parsec target.
SW titbit - Han's statement makes no sense, because a parsec is a unit of distance, not time.
who knows for sure? It was along time ago, far far away.
I'm very happy for you and for those who find your post funny.
This was addressed a long time ago (but not in a galaxy far, far away). Pablo Hidalgo answered the question in the old Star Wars magazine. Han's statement makes perfect sense; he completed the Kessel run by using a few shortcuts, hence the reference to making it in 12 parsecs.
Would have been nicer if you'd just seen the funny side of missing the play on words without feeling the need to post a sneering reply.
I always thought parsecs was an unmentionable in the pRon world......think about it .
They need to get the casting dead on with this one as the film somewhat depends on it.
Picks for a decent young Han Solo? I pick Michael Pitt. Not an obvious choice, hence why the pick really. Plus he's charismatic enough to be a leading man in such a film.
The Aaron Paul rumours have resurfaced for this.
"She's the ship that did the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs, bitch"
Separate names with a comma.
