Did we ever get anywhere with the 'February' date at the end of Halo 2?

I notice that on the front of XBM this month it makes mention of Halo3 available in February...didn't see the actual article inside though.

Halo 3 in Feb  no i think what the Feb date might mean are map updates OR a proper ending to the game that you have to download and then play the final level, that they meant to put in in the first place but due to time and a certain GTA:SA coming out they rushed it.

    stupid idiots in my opinion.
what about the many people who dont have a live account?
i for one feel a bit ripped off by getting an unfinished product. if, indeed you do get the finale in february.if its only maps then fair play.

Guess its a good way of getting xyz more people to sign up, although they might put it onto a mag, (yeah right) Sure some bright spark will put it on a download site.

You had to finish the game on the hardest level to get the Feb date.

im not totally sure how i feel to be honest with you.
i havnt finished it yet, but reading all about this feb stuff and that theres more actual game content that got left out and is only available from xbox live is very dissapointing.
at this moment in time, i dont think it was money well spent, put it that way.

    That's a shame.

I finished it, and I thought the ending was good.
I was worried as I progressed that it would finish suddenly, but that didn't happen, and there are loads of levels in it, and lots of gameplay for your money.

Halo2 is clearly well tested, and full of features, so I don't think it was 'rushed out' for xmas. If it was, surely it would have been the testing that would have suffered, not just deciding to leave out a final level in the game.

There's lots of areas where you'll be persecuted for not having a credit card, I don't think you can blame Microsoft for that.. ?

well who else can i blame for them only taking credit cards. its their stipulation.
playing a game via xbox live is hardly life threatening or in need of any major funds is it?
5 years ago maybe but not nowadays. there must be alot of other people put off by this too.
maybe its just a way to try and get more info from the users, i dont know, but they can still see where you live from your bank details regardless if its a credit or debit card.

I thought the ending was excellent. Even though Bungie are denying it the odds that Halo 3 will be a launch title for Xbox Next are probably 99%. So a cliffhanger ending is very important (think of Empire Strikes Back). I agree that the campaign is shorter than the first and I think lacks some of the classic scenarios of the first (who forgets their first sight of Silent Cartographer?) However, it is still much better than the majority of games released.
One of the major selling points of the Xbox is Live so I don't think that there is any mileage in complaining about not having it!

I know a lot of you out there really love Halo and Halo 2 but I actually felt dissapointed by Halo2.
I didnt feel it was anything special and that it was over hyped before its release.

The graphics didnt impress me either as I had just finished playing HL2 before i even started Halo 2.

Over all i didnt feel that it added anything new to the FPS genre that Halo already hadnt.

Sequels are never as good as the originals, but in HL2's case they did make effort to add more to the FPS genre with the unique phisics engine that no one has ever done before.

Halo 2 didnt add anything at all, which is why i deem halo 2 crap! Sorry to all the fans of the game. This is just my opinion!

This is not to say that Halo 3 wont be better!

The way I see it a FPS can only be good by adding something new to the FPS genre. If Halo 3 is new and Fresh then i will take back all my nasty words. But thats a big IF i think!

I'm also expecting a downloadable level in Feb; ie, the "real" last level. Not sure if this is due to time constraints, or just MS trying to convince a few more people onto Live. If it's the latter, then it's a pretty sleazy thing to do, but since I'm so happy with my Live service, I'm not complaining very loudly.

H4r7y, yep, I guess you're right, perhaps Microsoft should accept other forms of payment.

Until they do, I guess the alternative is to switch to Sony playstation or Nintendo live services ?

The whole Feb 9th thing is bogus. You will not find anyone who has actually completed the game on Legendary saying that they saw this its always FOAF (friend of a friend).

Bungie supposedly printed a statement saying it was nonsense but I haven't managed to find it.

Having had a stab at legendary and manage to get stuck in the first launch bay !!!.... I can't say for sure its not there but it does seem highly suggestive of being complete nonsense.

I thought that was the usual internet bull :censored: even if you finish the game on legendary nothing comes up about a febuary date.
