Microsofts Don Mattrick, while at the Gamebeat 2012 Conference, revealed the exclusive blockbuster first-person-shooter will work with the companys new Surface tablet.
Its perhaps no surprise that Microsofts new device, likely to be utilised in conjunction with the SmartGlass technology (as shown at E3) will be getting its first push thanks to one of their most established franchises, but details were thin on the ground.
The combination of console and tablet could prove a rival for Nintendos Wii U (due to be released around the same time as Halo 4) which relies on a similar concept, but given the hiccups Microsoft has had with their much-touted and thus far dismally utilised motion-control Kinect peripheral, its success in gaming terms is far from assured.
Not everyone will have the tablet, thus its unlikely to be a total game-changer in terms of integration, but therell be more than a few disappointed punters if its to be used for little more than mini-maps, inventory and achievement tracking.
