Anyone got any pictures to show? Hint hint
I seem to remember the Iron One donated a PJ for this very reason, I think it's only fair for the recipient to show what he managed to achieve with the generous donation.
I'd be interested in any projector projects but it was also a subtle hint.
I'll try and get some up next year
For anyone not in the know Dony just won the AVF Benq projector competition...
I've never won anything of this value before, now to convince my wife that it's something we've always needed!
I've got a spare screen I could "lend" you
Alas it would cost far more than it's worth to get it there
Shame I can’t upload a video as you don’t really get the full effect without the movement and sound.
But here’s a few snaps from mine:
That's ace! Any details of how you did it??
Sure... pretty simple really.
Projector (ideally >1500 lumens)
Cheap white (NOT frosted) shower curtain. Don’t waste money on an expensive rear projection screen. My curtain was £3 from Wilko.
Finally some form of media and a player of some kind.
That’s it really.
Ideally set the projector up in rear projection mode (if you have any text) and position it lower than the window to avoid a “hot spot”.
Hook up a Bluetooth speaker as well if your media has sound.
To be honest I had more comments on the pumpkins than the window, but it was well received.
Nobody mentioned the two 5ft skeletons hanging from a tree in a hangman’s noose!
Sorry Sorry, apologies although i have looked in over the past couple of days, i didn't see this thread and i've either been only on a flying visit or on the wrong computer etc etc etc.
Anyways Thank to Mr IronGiants generosity this is what i managed to produce.
I just purchased the witches effect video from Atmosfx as a digital download, i was using an old PS3 with a broken drive (Youngest a couple of years ago trying to jam as many disks as possible into the drive) to hook up to the projector very kindly donated (thanks again IronGiant ) this meant having to stitch the content together to make a single video and then put it on loop.
The screen is an old bed sheet mounted on a frame to hold it in place.
you can't see but i had a couple of old speakers sat under the Bay for the sound.
On our street we only have a few younger children and as we are right on the edge of town we don't get many visitors from other roads coming our way as they head the opposite direction, for an hour we still had a constant gaggle of children stood watching on the front, some who were out with mum or dad going home and fetching the other parent to see it. So it was a big success.
I now have plans for next year to expand the experience, not sure the wife is as convinced as me for 1 day a year though.
Oh and a couple of the Pumpkins that the girls did
