I have just used my Halifax card on DVD Soon for the first time, since cancelling my usual Virgin card due to the DVD Pacific fiasco. When I came to the checkout, I was presented with a pop up screen, from "Halifax Secure", asking for my date of birth, and some other secure info, which claimed to be a card security measure. I would also assign a password to use the card in future. Has anyone else seen or heard of this? Given the general heightened awareness of online credit card security, I declined this offer, until I can verify that it's authentic. Any info appreciated.

Yeah it is authentic, a number of websites use it, seems like a good way of an extra piece of mind really!

Same thing happen to me with a bank of scotland visa , Its just extra security for fraud.Make sure when you do it you dont make any mistakes like me or dvdsoon put your account on hold and you then have to mail them to get it reopened. Also when you make your password the bank will probably e-mail or phone your to check that its you.

Thanks guys! I enrolled on the Halifax site. It does seem like a good idea. Pity DVD Pacific didn't use it.
