Since finishing off my 2-channel system, I'm now looking ahead to my multichannel setup which shares the same ARCA rack.

I'm currently using a Yamaha RX-V3067 and want to add power amps before swapping this out for a processor.

Trouble is, the ARCA rack has a central aperture designed for a speaker which I have customised by adding shelving for my games console, Mac Mini and Sonos. The width is 290mm and SWMBO has stipulated "No more racks!" so I'm looking for opinions on half-width power amps.

Was looking at 3 x Naim NAP 100 after the AVF review but it is "only" 50W. I do understand that under load, my receiver is probably only about 5 x 60W and all channels share the same transformer and capacitor bank :)

So, just wondered if anyone had any suggestions based on experience/ownership for an amplifier(s) that would fit the bill?

Speakers are Monitor Audio GX series.

    Cheers in advance,
    Darren

Rowen's power amplifiers are all 21.5cm wide. They are well-respected, high-end power amplifiers (over here) and I was suitably impressed by a pair driving Magnepan MG20.1's. However, they have a price tag to match.

Thanks for the suggestion Mark. I think I may have to be a little less ambitious with the power amps :)

Wondering if anyone has compared/heard the Musical Fidelity M1PWR, Naim NAP 100 and perhaps the Project Amp Box RS.

The NAP100 sounds wonderful and don't let the specs put you off

    Hi Kenny,

Thanks for that - every Naim amp I've heard seems to punch way above its wattage for dynamics and grip. Getting very tempted by 3 of these for AV duties :)

Was going to go into town today to have a look and listen as there is a Naim and MF dealer but laziness got the better of me after the gym - haha!

    All the best,
    Darren

    Cheers Kenny,

Out of interest, have you heard the NAP 100s and if so, do you think they'd be suitable for my requirements?

Doh, realised you said they sound wonderful so I guess so.
