    when trying to go online on opposing force im told that my version is out of date and the pc will update then it takes me bak to my homepage then nothing help

    I'd down load all the patches associated with half life including steam and this should sort all your issues.try here (you'll have to register) for all your required downloads.:-

    A mag like PC Zone has a lot of Mods and updates these days on disc. £6 get's you the lot plus a decent mag and other demos to muck about on.

    in case u havent noticed, Half-life is powered by a new program called Steam. Perhaps, the servers your trying to connect to are now using the new Steam system, instead of the old WON system that Valve is soon to get rid of. Hawklord already mentioned it but i thought i'd explain it abit.
