Yup, you read it right the games have been delayed...

    Half-Life 2 delayed

    News

Vivendi Universal says that Valve is now scheduled to complete the game in time for the holidays.

When Valve announced Half-Life 2 in early May, some were surprised by Valve's firm insistence that the game would be ready to ship on September 30. Today we received word from the game's publisher, Vivendi Universal, that Half-Life 2's release has been delayed until later this year. Without commenting on the delay, a Vivendi Universal representative reaffirmed that the game would ship this year, sometime during the holiday season.

Half-Life 2 was one of the most-talked-about games at this year's E3. For more details, check out our previous coverage of the game.

    :rotfl:

I don't believe it, valve has done it again.
They've done nothing since 97/98 when half-life came out but announce new games (TF2, CS:CZ, HL2) and keep delaying them.
They've been making money off hype and each time we get taken in and believe it.

 They must be the only company in the world that have managed to run without actually selling a product for 6 years.

    I really can't say i'm suprised.

effin' hell yet another delay. I wish they'd give up giving release dates and hyping games so much it's so frustrating.

As far as the info goes someone from Vivendi Universal (publishers) says that the game will be delayed but Valve (producers) have the say on release date and know nothing about a delay ( info from Shacknews ) flip a coin I think.

Check out Megagames website. They've got a screen shot of Gabe Newell's response to an e-mail enquiring about the delay. It's news to him so I wouldn't get the hankies out just yet.
