What's the camera?
Is the camera (weight) within the range specified for the stab you bought?
With a DSLR, set-up will change as you operate the Zoom . . . .

It's not a magic-cure product, it just helps, but you may take a while getting used to it . . .that is assuming it is set correctly.
. . . but I'm reading you've not yet got through the set-up . . . . . . but how do you know - could that be the issue?

Run up and down the touchline at a football match, get in everyone's way and end up with footage that looks like it's been filmed by a drunken chimpanzee- just like the professionals do it :D

I have seen some clips on YouTube about steadycams. I think the Hague may be one of them.
