Well not so much broken into more utterly destroyed by the thieving scum.

They actually cut through the hedge and then removed the back of the shed in order to get in

Made off with all My fishing gear which has took 10 years and thousands of pounds to accumulate.

They also took the mrs mountainbike, mine was in the house thankfully

Phoned the police they werent interested of course

Why cant these thieving scum who steal off private citizens be marched into the street and executed. The only justice that would help me sleep soundly would be to se them all laid out on a mortuary slab

I saw in the paper on Saturday and on TV a case where a shop had something like 800 (sorry if the figures are way out)., but the list was endless and in very few cases the culprits of crimes in the shop where pursued. Countless times the criminals were cautioned, warned or police were un able to attend.
I suppose if the shop keeper had raised a bruise halting a shoplifter he would have been dragged through the courts, and sued for every penny.

We used to live down a cul-de-sac and used to keep lots of bikes in the drive where no-one could see them. There were no thefts for 3 years. Then we decided to get a new shed to put them in.

Guess what! Within a week, the car had been broken into to gain access to the shed and everything was nicked.

    So you have my sympathy.

    How's it looking for insurance?

When I got burgled when I was a studen, we were only insured under my dad, and lost nearly £5,000 in stuff, and only got £2,000 off the insurance companies.

I reckon they should cut off feet for thieves like that.

I have £2000 insurance for outbuildings which should cover it fine.
Doesnt cover the damage to the shed it self or the tree they cut down at the back!

There is no way they new what was in there they must have just made a whole and had a look first.

Didnt nick me surfboard suppose not much call for them at car boots in nottingham. :)
Did not take the lawnmower either :(
So I still had to cut the lawn :(

Sent the mrs out to buy some blinds for the rear windows cause I am worried they may get in thru the shed into the garden and have a nose in at me Homecinema.

It comes to something when your just relieved that it wasnt your house or an attack on a loved one.

Ive been asking around for suggestions on how to secure the rear of the property at the mo its just really thick trees and bushes.

Best answer so far someone suggested I get an ATAT :D

Any Ideas? Dont want to spend much money unless its gaurenteed to hurt the thieving scum and not land me in any bother with the law :smashin:

it really does anger me this - you can't even defend your home...someone broke into my flat a few years back - the back door was smashed in half, but because I lived in a cul de sac - I guess they must have got disturbed, but they were so close to my hifi kit, I moved in with me now ex within 2 days...

I'd personally use a baseball bat to them...luckily I feel more secure where I live now, but at the end of the day, if they wanna break in, they will...!

Sorry to hear your news. What goes around and all that. Hopefully the thieving scum will overdose and have slow painful death on the drugs they probably intend on buying once they have shifted your gear.

Scum. Hope they rot in hell.

What gets me is that there have been times lately when we have been so desperate for money just so as we could buy food that I started selling off some gear for next to nothing.
Yet it did not enter my mind to steal of another person.

So with that in my mind no one has a justified excuse to steal unless of course your pinching stuff back that was already yours. :)

I think what gets me madder is that people actually believe that these scroates dont deserve to be badly punished that the root of the problem of poverty blah blah blah needs to be tackled.
Well iam sorry but they are wrong these people are born and raised to be scum and should not be treated as human beings, they just need exterminating like you would with any other vermin.

Find me a political party that will eliminate petty crime by emposing such harsh sentences that no one will take the risk, and they would get my vote.

Police still havent rang me back

    Update

The Police actually phoned me back to gather some more precise info and ask me detailed questions as to the nature of the crime :smashin:

The copper was really helpfull and gave some good advice on protecting my property.

The insurance company were remarkably quick they told me that Halfords would call re the bike and that Fosters of Birmingham would call re the fishing stuff.
10 minutes later I had a call from the Fishing shop asking me what I wanted :) RESULT

Well done Abbey National Home insurance :smashin:

I'm sorry for your loss. I also wouldn't dream of bringing up the whole gun ownership to discourage burglaries again.

I have three Samurai swords one of which is extremely sharp so that should help dispatch the buggers :D

Wouldnt have a clue how to get hold of a gun in this country and hope it stays that way. :)

Having said that if I lived in America with your level of violent crime I would own one.

Fourtunatly there is still time to prevent our society from going down that route. These thugs only understand one thing, violence and we need to hit them back with everything we have got.

Beating a greasy chav to death with a baseball bat would be much more satisfing than shooting them, unless you managed a good gut shot and they bled to death in excruciating pain.

    Re - spikey plants
been pruning gooseberry bushes today. Could be the answer -enough pain inflicted to gratify the most vengeful  , less difficult to defend in court than a baseball bat and all the jam you can eat! :rotfl: :rotfl:

The fishing stuff never went back in the shed. I actually sold it all a few weeks ago as I dont have time to go anymore. The bikes are kept in the back porch which is pain in the arse everytime we go out to feed the rabbits.
Its strange I was only thinking about this yesterday as I used part of the old shed yesterday to repair a whole in the fence.
