Let's face it, most HDTVs are not-very-smart TVs. They have some "intelligence" built in. So they have an OS that somebody has programmed with a limited set of choices on a limited set of parameters. Has anybody hacked, or found Easter Eggs, in Vizio TVs that will let the end-user change those choices?
Specifically, my Vizio will turn itself off (sleep, really) when it detects no signal for some period on the TV input, but not on the others. I would like my Vizio to turn off when it detects no signal on at least one of the two HDMI inputs so that when I put my connected PC to sleep, the Vizio joins it.
There is, I believe, a Setup ethernet jack in the back. Does anybody know what this does? If I plug a laptop into it, do I get access to the OS?
