I suppose it was bound to happen sooner or later. Still, it may speed up the release of the official web browser, which is rumoured to be late May now.

How much does it cost to go wireless in the home? I have an xbox live downstairs, and my pc, and would like the psp hooked up as well. Is it expensive to do?

Its good to see all this development for the PSP. Its a powerful piece of kit and should have no problem running any of the software developed for it. A good sized memory card will be needed for the future though methinks.

Na, pretty cheap fella. A wireless router is between £30 - £50 and that's all you'd need! Keep your PC & X-Box hard wired and use your PSP wireless. If you want your PC in another room wireless then you'll need a wireless network card for it and if you wanted your XB wireless in another room you'd need a wireless ethernet bridge.

I'd recommend Linksys's routers, the wireless G is £50 and the wireless B is £35 at amazon but you may get them cheaper elsewhere. Unless you're moving a lot of data around the network then the wireless B is sufficient and gaming speeds are not reduced.

    Hope that helps

Yea I have the Linkysys wireless G router. Its a great pirce of Kit. I cant get it to work with the PSP though it wont take my 64bit encyption key :(

Gthom have are you using this router ? How did you get it to work. It find the network no problems but says my 10 charcter key is invalid. weird....

If so how did you get it to work. It was obvious they would crack PSP I am suprised it was so quick though. Expect region free UMD and many many emulators to be available shortly :)

I don't use an encryption key on mine which is a bit risky I guess but i'd soon know if someone else was using the connection. I just scanned and it picked it up and set up the connection straight away.

Its picks up mine no problem but wont take the wep key. A few people have had this problem I think its down to compatability with the router.

I cant risk my network being open. I can browse the net at the end of the road using my connection (50 M minimum) half the neighbourhood could easily share my connection.

I think alot of the issues people are having with WEP will be solved when the official browser is released, while it is good that people are finding roundabout ways to go online, IRC and even AIM can be accessed, I feel that it should be taken into account it's still early days with the PSP.

I think I also read somewhere that it's something like a 13 digit WEP Key the PSP currently accepts, a 10 or 26 key will cause the problems people are getting. Rumour has it that it's late MAY for the next PSP system update, and that's when browsing and possibly email appears.

The comment about region free UMD while interesting, will probably not happen. I read somewhere that only Sony themselves can press to UMD, they have not licensed the hardware to do this to other pressing/duplication plants. The line about this I read was "to try and reduce piracy, with the knowledge only Sony can do this"

So any company producing games for the PSP have to go to Sony to actually get the game made.

I don't know how many people visit www.sony.com(USA Site) but there is a very active PSP forum there, which I got some of this information from.
