Hack for Dell PC DVD player hack

    Hi everone,

    I have a Dell PC , which comes with a DVD player/reader, but it asks me do I want R1 or R2, so please help, how can I make this multi region.

    You can either "flash" the drive to make it region free, if software exists for that drive or download a program which enables itself when the drive is used. I chose the latter, my drive is locked to R2 but it seamlessly plays R1.
    The software is called DVD Rgion-Free, I chose this last year after asking the same question and recommend this as there is more flexibility/drive safety.

    The player itself is Hitachi, but it came with the whole PC tower. So in theory it is inconnection with Dell.

    Do you know the model of the hitachi drive???

    In My computer, right click the drive and choose properties then hardware. It will list the make and model.

    Hi Jonny I used your method , and it says Hitachi GD-2000
    DVD/CD rom.
    Someone told me thaty I can download some softwares from the internet to make it Multi region , don't know is true or not.
