    I have a Pana PWD5,

I have heard there is an amplifier on the market that will take composite, s-vhs and component signals in and output the signal as component regardless of the signal going in.

I understand that this wont improve the quality of a composite signal but it would go a long way to helping me find a solution to wiring everything to my plasma through an amp, I really want to connect my SKY and DVD through the component input of the screen.

If this isn't the case could someone offer me some pointers to what I should do.

Please Help, I have around £700 to spend, help me spend it wisely.

    James

I think you are talking about the Denon 3803.

It has the up-convert facility and will take composite. s-video and component and output via a single component to your plasma.

It also has an audio delay feature if you have every suffered with it.

You might want to think about converting the RGB Scart signal from yur Sky box to component using the JS-Tech converter and then using the amp to provide the switching. I am assuming your DVD allready has component output.

You should be able to get the Denon 3803 for about £679...the JS Tech converter is around the £130-£150 I think.

    Cheers, Lee

It is the Denon 3803 - I have the same panny as you as well, all works well, although I have only one component source but the Denon can take two component input sources. I would try the sky without component first (if cash is an issue, if not go for it all) as the picture improvement is fantastic, even from composite sources.
