Our neighbour let us take a digger through their garden, I reimbursed them for having to move their sky dish - they are such nice neighbours..

and this is how I've repaid them..

I haven't spoken to them or the builder yet, I was away at the weekend when it was fitted and they complained to the builder.

Any suggestions to help ease this headache? thanks

Ok well speaking to builder now anyway, hopefully something can be sorted - I just feeling tired this morning, and it all felt like crap :)

Might just be me, but I don't understand the issue?
What have they complained about exactly?

The soffit and guttering overhangs into the neighbours side.

That painted strip of blue vs 'cream' should give good indication of boundary.

Check the plans, getting that to go back now is major work.

The thing is, if you didn't have any overhangbinto your neighbours at all, there would be absolutely zero soffit.

Oh I see. Yes that is an issue!

I assume it didnt replace like for like?
You've effectively build on their land I'm afraid.

Was that in your passed plans and agreed with the builder?

It's an extension, so all new.

Fortunately the builder has it already arranged to resolve the issue and to cut the soffits back.

The person who fit them was trying to match them all up, so should be fixed today or tomorrow - because roof is due to start coming on tomorrow!

I can relax again now :D

Glad you can relax now...but before you do....Is it normal to have a scaffolding cutout on your soffits for that pole nearest the wall?

if you was my neighbour i would be complaining about the fact that you are building onto my property - i wouldn't see it as acceptable to have your guttering in my garden!

this should have been sorted out with a party wall agreement ...

No I agree, it isn't acceptable in my view either. Fortunately it's getting removed and redone within our party boundary.
