After seeing that scream 3 was going to be aired on C4 tonight I decided to break out my VHS collection & have a Scream Trilogy Orgy climaxing with the C4 airing of the finale... I noticed one thing about all three horror films, the 'Bad Guys' are always finished off with Guns by the good guys. And when I think about it, this is very much a prominent thing with the Horror Franchise... Hallowe'en, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream etc etc I decided that either directly or indirectly, the makers of this crap are promoting a daft principle that Knives are the insane weapon of choice which only killers use to 'hunt', whereas guns are the moral and 'humane' killing devices only used by potential victims in a 'self defence only not' kind of way. I guess the idea is that you actually have to hunt & get close to people with a knife (well you can throw them), whereas a gun is the defence against people that do that (tell that to the US army). Anybody else noticed this in movies & have an opinion on it???
