A friend wants to buy my old tv off me but we don’t know what would be a suitable and fair price. It is a Philips 28 inch widescreen, 50 hz. Blackline S tube. Straight Nicam stereo and fastext. Model 28PW6322. No extra frills. Good basic quality. It is about 4 years old and in perfect nick. What would be a fair price to both of us?

About £200 as technology has moved on quite a bit in the last 4 years.

I've just flogged my nan's tv to cash converters for £100 and it is no where near Nic's tv. It must have been getting on for 15 years old.

On the basis youcan get a cheap (Bush/Schneider/Goodmans) for about £300 new then £250 to £300 would seem about fair.

I wouldnt want to spend more than £200 on it. The tv may look good but the tube is used and you wont know how much, it might need replacing very quickly and then you have just wasted money.

You can get brand new toshiba and phillips 28 inch wides for about £400, as reviewed in last months mag. That would be what i would go for.
