Guide Plus

Hi Guys
Forgive me for being a bit silly, but I've been reading about the Pioneer DVR-530 and the fact that it uses Guide Plus to control STB's.

Does anyone know if this means it will control my Sky digibox, and how does it get its data? I don't have a freeview source so does it get it from the Sky feed or can it pick it up from analogue etc etc - sorry, I'm a bit confused!

Cheers

It gets its data via one of the analog TV channels (forget which, it's in the manual, downloadable from Pioneer), so you have to have an aerial connected. And, yes, it does include $ky programme guides. And yes, it will control a $ky box.

Has anyone got one of these machines - are they any good? I've read a review on Home Cinema Choice, which was pretty good but nothing like real world views!

I'm interested in the ease of use of the whole Guide Plus thing really, a friend of mine has offered me his Tivo at a good price as he's switching to a PC based system, and I have also been considering Sky+, I know the relative merits of each and am looking for an alternative that will give me a better pic quality than the Tivo and ease of dumping to DVD - its quite involved with Tivo as I understand it, or without ongoing subs, a la Sky+.

I love the Tivo interface and software, so was just wondering how easy Guide Plus is to use in comparison to both the Tivo and Sky+

Cheers
Matt
