yeah. its on sale at all GAME stores. £39.99.

i have the PS2 version and the XB version and here i some impressions so far: (if anyone is intrested  )

GTA3: high res cars look sexy. nice lighting and reflections too. but somethings wrong. i compared it to the PS2 version and woah.... was it slow. it felt like it thad the slow mo cheat on.

GTA VC: again flashy cars and lighting. much better port actually. runs at the same speed as the PS2 version but probably has a better frame rate. it seemed smoother anyway.

the only problem i really have, apart form the slowness of GTA3, is the PAD. awful when compared to the PS2.

so would i get it is i owned the PS2 versions. NO.
would i get them if i didnt have a PS2 or havent played them before. YES.
40 quid for two of the best games made...

the xbox pad is fine as far as i am concerned.

The thing is even though they have 'improved' the graphics it just goes to show how bad the ps2 version looks. Top game though.

Take a look at Max Payne 2 to see how good the xbox version is. It is superb

That's my only hump with X-Box too, those bloody pads!

The PS2 one is far more intuitive and easy to use, and I'm 'used' to it.

Perhaps in time I might become 'used' to the X-Box pad.

Picked this up in GAME Dublin yesterday, so it would appear to be all their stores. Just had a few hours on GTA3 and I have to say I love it. I've previously played Vice City on the PS2, and thought that I might hate the controls on the XBox, but they seem very natural after just one day. Can't really say that it's particularly slow, as I haven't played the PS2 version, but it seems fine to me.

NAI, have you tried turning off trails in options, I read somewhere (IGN, IIRC) that they can cause a bit of slowdown. I reckon it looks better without them anyway!

Back to lose more hours of my life I guess. See you all in a few months.

the trails are fine in GTA3.... but hell, the game looks naff in VC with the trails left on...

but like i say its all good if you dont already own them or a PS2. but if you do.... i really dont see the point in buying inferior games...

Anybody know if there is more memory of what you have done in the game due to the xbox hdd?

Are there more people and/or cars onscreen?

I have the PS2 versions of both and am not sure whether to get it. I never completed the ps2 versions (I just walked about killing people and blowing up cars).

I've been playing it a while, I bought it between xmas and new year. Great game. Two things annoy...

    1. When you are really driving fast the cars pop up half way down the road.

    2. You can crash a few cars to intentionally block cars but if you turn a corner and then return all the blocked cars have gone.

I have a problem at the mo. I got one of those kill 25 gang members in 2 minutes. I completed the task and now if any of them see me they start shooting at me. It was a nice touch to start off with but it's just annouying now. Do they forgive or forget?

Can't resist....I much prefer the Xbox controller now. PS2 just doesn't feel comfortable...designed for little Japanese hands.

They never forget! Make sure you complete the additional rampages first. On GTA3 one gang upgraded their pistols to shotguns after a while which makes driving hazardous and walking impossible.
