Hi Groove. I remember reading your thread when you first started and it has gone on to be one of the classics, inspiring so many others.

As you appear to be back in some shape or form, I just wondered if the room has undergone any changes?

Sorry mate for the delay in getting back to you - my units are from IKEA but I used the BESTA ADAL units which have raised wooden legs and 2 individual equipment shelves rather than 1 large gap separated by a steel support beam. The BESTA JAGRA units also come with castors and not legs and I much prefer the ADAL to the JAGRA having tried them both.

BESTÅ ÅDAL TV bench - IKEA

I also don't think IKEA sell the JAGRA units Groove used anymore..

Hi guys I have join this forum very recently :) I have found lots of good stuff and comments here. Like this project here. I have recently moved to my new house it's very old stylish house. I have lots of DIY to do. I have started from smallest bedroom with wallpapering which I have not done before come out very good after finish my boy was over the moon with Lighting Mc Queen wallpaper :D

I love to start similar project for my living room this is looks really good. I have not done anything like this before looks very simple I am sure there is lots of calculation involved. I will wait till summer time then start this tv project. I will be uploading pictures once I start it.

    Regards
    Oz

    Hey Pete

Just wanted to shout out to you and say excellent job there mate. Perfect finish it seems from the vid. I am looking something very similar to yours and noticed your post by accident. So close to what I want to do mate... have a look at my own ideas here:

    http://www.avforums.com/forums/home...oating-av-wall-65-incher-motorised-mount.html

Guess the few differences would be that my shelf wont be floating, however I wont dismiss that idea now that I have seen your project but I have more equipment to put on there and I would really need space for all the wiring crap that is going to come out of that.

My idea also includes a motorised mount but they are a nightmare to find for a 65 inch tv.

Which mount is that that you are using? And why that weird cut up behind the tv?

    Hey Rovers

Those cabinets are just what I'm looking for! I've been struggling to find something to match my new BX5's, any chance you can tell me where you got them from?

    Many thanks, Xray

WOW, so far spent 2 days looking for something and my head hurts! All I need is a 240 cm solution (or close to that), do you think I can find anything

I have a similar requirement. Looking for a custom av unit which is 237cm wide, 50cm deep and has a 162cm cavity and removable plinth at the bottom for wires.

I have been quoted ridiculous amounts so far.

That's a lovely cabinet, nice to see some craftsmanship. Imho I wouldn't have bothered with the floating wall as the cabinet stands so well on its own, but thenI have a very strong aversion to floating walls as it feels like every thread on here starts with 'my new floatingg wall build' lol :)
But, very nice, like the colour too.

    Kind regards

    Linx
