I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned around these parts but I found nothing in a search.

Gridserve are building the first of around 100 charging stations/services in Braintree, my home town :)
They will have around 30 chargers, shops, food and toilet facilites.

Looking forward to this opening even though I won't be charging there. It's great for EV's and I hope to see it take off and see if they can hit their 100 station target.

It will be interesting to see what their "competitive pricing" structure is.

Will be looking out for these. Also interesting is 'You can rely on our EV chargers to always work'. I think there's a superscript asterisk missing here!

I’m guessing with almost 30 chargers on site, they’re banking on the majority always being up and running.

Even with a power cut, they’ve got 6MWh of battery storage on site

Will be opening soon :)

Not terrible then. 1p more than PodPoint at Lidl, 11p less than InstaVolt.

After accounting for the higher VAT rate that's about a 20% premium over typical domestic rates at half-decent suppliers and that is a fair tariff for the investment. Anything more is milking the market IMO.

Let's hope it's not just a short term promotion.

It's all open now. They could, if it was possible, using the solar farm, on-site battery storage and grid connection, theoretically shove 763miles a minute into a car...... and all the chargers are contactless, that is the way to go just like Instavolt, no more faffing with apps and rfid's
