Grey Screen vs ND2 Filter

Active Member
Hi all,

I've just had a discussion with a friend regarding if there is any difference in the resulting image contrast (or apparent contrast / black levels) when you use either a grey screen or a filter such as ND2 projecting onto a white screen.

I can't see there being much difference myself since as far as I am aware they will both do essentially the same thing: darken the image.

I was just wondering what other people think?

the nd2 filter will not help with reduced contrast caused by ambient and reflected light from wall/ceiling. the grey screen will help with reflected/ambient light problems.
