Thanks I did not realise this was a season. I watched the Bravados on Digital. Did anyone else notice that it was transmitted on Digital in Wide Screen with black bars top & bottom but in the wrong aspect ratio . i.e. slightly compresed horizontally. Gregory Peck was not long and lean but slightly too squarish! I had to use one of my Panasonics horrible picture stretching modes to get it right. In fact is was correct on a widescreen if you switched to 4:3 but you then got a tiny picture with black bars all round. I am sure that this was not my set up but that the film was shown with the wrong aspect ratio codes or whatever it is they use to dictate how the picture comes over. For some reason I always thought this film was called The Unforgiven, no I am not confusing it with the excellent Clint Eastwood western, must check my film directory. Regards Richard
you should have a zoom function for 16:9 broadcasts, it's the same thing as watching a 1.85:1 non-anamorphic DVD.
The Bravados has always been the title. I saw it once at the pictures as the second movie and it was called that. May be it was based on a book The Unforgiven where you may have seen it in the credits?
Hi James I do and it worked; but surely we should not have to change the settings on our TV's to maintain the correct aspect ratio. Once we start accepting this we will have to tinker with the settings every time we change channel. Regards Richard
