Just a warning about the Denon 1940. I found that there was a flickering green haze visible on some discs - only strongly noticeable when watching black and white (which I do a lot). I tried two machines in a row, and they did the same - on my TV, and on the various LCDs and plasmas at the shop. The same disc played in pure B&W on the Cambridge DVD89 (disappointingly, because the overall picture quality in the DVD89 is weaker).

For the record, I just had a (very quick) look at a Denon 1740 and it didn't seem to have this problem.
