Okay team, after having a quick study of the cars for the first round, are we going to go all out from the start with best cars, or play a cagey game and field a mixed bag?

my suggestions for the first round are;

Mini Cooper-S '06
Subaru impreza WRX Sti '07
Audi R8 4.2 FSI R '07
GT Clio Sport V6 Tuned Car

I guess lightweight and 4 wheel drive cars are best suited to this track, cars with good acceleration for the undulations. does anyone how a preference for which class they would like to drive?

Good work on starting the thread David. The car choice looks pretty good to me as well.

I'd be happy to take the R8 round here, had quite a lot of practice with that car so would be confident of setting a decent time.

Any thoughts DelBoy, Curly?

I have not played with the GT Clio Sport V6 Tuned Car yet so I am happy to give this a good caning, either the Clio or the Subaru but NOT the Mini!

I "was" quite handy on the JPN version on this track before the update to Spec II, I did manage to gold this track in the Viper.

When does this one end lads?

Chris, things kick off tomorrow, (Friday) we have a whole week till the following Sunday 6pm deadline to submit our times.

We do though have to submit our car list by tonight. After that, we can either stick to our each chosen allocated car or drive all 4 cars each and choose the best time from each (but each driver must submit 1 time)

I prefer to stick with 1 car and thrash the nuts of that for a whole week. I'm happy to go with the Mini if Delboy can take the WRX?

Was gonna bag the Mini but am willing to try the WRX.

Only reason i was going for the Mini is i think i may be the teams weakest link, but im going to put in many many hours and will only improve.

I guess we all should drive the 4 cars as much as possible this weekend and see how we all get on, pm some times to me and we can decide how best to allocate the final choice so we can concentrate on a single car each for the rest of the week.

As the GT wheel is new it will be quite hard to find at first and might be quite expensive, when a g25 could be had on ebay for about £125 if you look about.

Not saying you should buy a certain wheel, just a idea if you need one.

Anybody had any thoughts so far? The tuned Clio is a nightmare it really is a case of slow in, fast out (wait until your in a straight line first)

The other cars are all quite good, and looking at the rankings we're not doing too badly so far, albeit early days. I still don't have any preference on car choice, we just need to maximise our advantage with the Mini over the other teams Mazda.

I can't see any times posted yet for the tuned Evo, to compare our Clio times against, keep up the good work

Bit worried as I thought I would be quicker on the G25 almost straght away but I guess I need to learn again almost seeing as I have spend the last 10 years playing racing games on the PS1/PS2/PS3 with a pad.

Gonna give it a good caning today to see if I can get back on the pace with the G25.

Really enjoying the R8 and the WRX though, still plenty of improvement to be had, especially for the WRX.

Andy, you seem to be best with the R8, if you can puck up that 1 sec off Lol2funny that would be great. I've improved my Mini time slightly to 1.21.700, will need to get this under 1.21 to really make the avantage over the other teams.
