Green screen before dash and dropped sound RFOM

Today I came across two interesting problems on my PS3

I powered it up and eventually the HDMI signal picked up, however it displayed a dark green screen briefly then went straight into the dash without the little intro melody!

Also during a online session of RFOM my sound kept dropping out for brief moments (Similar to what you get when you change a channel on a older CRT TV)

Help!

It may be a HDCP handshaking issue with the HDMI. What TV do you have?
As for the sound I would assume it's a result of online play as glitches can appear then. It should'nt be a problem though.

A cheap one from Aldi!

Anyway looks like I'll be getting a new TV soon as the sound issue is now happening with other sources so I feel the speakers on the TV are failing
