Actually not bad.
#GrownUpPolitics - London Mayor and Assembly...Watch this video on YouTube
I saw that when it was broadcast, quite clever.
So did I, and I agree, but it raises questions, such as did all the parents know, and how did they get permission to use a school?
It doesn't raise any such questions. A contracted ad agency hires the production outfit that shoots it after auditioning and hiring child actors and securing the necessary location(s) and director (quite probably in house along with the rest of the crew). Just like any other scripted broadcast video production. It's an acting gig, so the parents undoubtedly would have consented after making them audition. Nothing nefarious.

It raised questions with me, and you've answered them, except for how did they get to use a school.
I said nothing about it being nefarious.
They get to use a school as any ad/TV/film production would get to use any such location - they hire one out that's available to hire, that's likely been used for filming purposes before and will be in a directory with the necessary booking info to save them time. We frequently see such a location in scripted TV and film drama, certainly for external scenes (dropping off and picking up kids, going there to meet teacher after little Johnny has been very naughty), and sometimes inside too.
Correct you didn't say it was nefarious, I never said you did, but you seemed concerned from your view that it raised questions.
If the school is in use as a school, then I do see its use as a film setting, of any kind, wrong.
I had no preconceptions!
I presume such shooting takes place when not in normal use
- e.g. weekend, half-term break, etc ... just like when they're used as polling stations and blood donor venues (where I've often given blood, in the gym/assembly hall)
Channel 4's end of the year quiz features kids acting out news stories.
Just for the record I disapprove of those uses as well.
Do you object to the use of school facilities for other purposes out of normal hours? Or is it specific uses. For instance educational, clubs, night school, blood donor station etc - fine; commercial hiring out - not fine?
Or is it child actors?
Wow, this thread has gone so OT in such a short number of posts
Probably my fault for pulling at a certain thread in the thread, but then again the main topic had essentially run its course, what more is there to say about this amusing broadcast?
Dear Head Teacher, here's £3000
Renting out the buildings to supplement income and boost the funds available for maintenance, books, computers and staff is wrong why?
Because some members of AVF (not @logiciel) are convinced that the current Government funds schools to correct levels, so why should they need to raise further money.
I'd have thought only extreme lefty socialists would think it was wrong
Actually I was thinking of the school caretakers, but best not to go on!
