I don't watch much television and I certainly don't watch tripe like "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here" but I made an exception in this case because I am a cricket fan and wanted to see how Phil Tufnell would get on.

The programme was as dire as I expected it to be with the single stand out moment being Danniela Westbrook saying that she didn't want to leave early as the great British Public would laugh at her. As if any of us would laugh at Missy One Nostril, surely not.

The various "turns" were linked by Ant & Dec reading very poorly scripted "ad libs" off an autocue and it struck me by the end of the show that it would have been marginally more interesting without them and that neither of them have any talent whatsoever. They can't even be there to attract females to watch the show as one of them isn't even good looking.

Phil Tuffnell was renowned as a completely self engrossed cricketer but he seemed to come out of yesterday's performance as a relatively interesting human being and there weren't many of them on show.

Not watching it at all but I agree with you on these two, I do not know how they can classes as comedians, they even had the cheek to do a Likely Lads remake.

I know the one, the one that looks a bit like Exeter from This Island Earth

agree with all the above. Didnt they rise up in a similar fashion to two other guy's - 'Trev & Simon - except those two had at least an anounce of humour ib their act (if i remember rightly)

Let's get ready ready, let's get ready ready, let's great ready to rummmbbbbbblllllleeeeeeee :D

As Ian knows from a recent conversation of ours :D I am an Ant & Dec fan. I grew up watching them on Byker Grove, so maybe that's why. I think they're lively, entertaining presenters. They may not be any good at the technical aspects of it all, like reading, but they certainly make up for it with that "cheeky chappy" charm that all the grandma's love. I thought they did an absolutely first rate job of that Pop Idol show (or whatever it was called), and it just wasn't the same with Davina, as much as I love her.

Three cheers for Ant & Dec  (or three chairs, if you don't like them  )

    Squirrel God! Shame on you!

You admit to watching Pop Idol? Really? And you found something good about it?

I thought the audience for that particular show was exclusively female.

    And aged 12.

Yeah, I thought the original Pop Idol was great viewing, especially at the start. The appalling contestants that thought they had a chance were absolutely hilarious. And who can forget that girl that did the Village People song  She got a Pizza Hut advert out of that :rotfl:

Oh! I seem to remember the Pizza Hut advert. Now I know where the woman came from! I'd assumed she was from some kind of soap opera (most people I don't recognise on the telly seem to be in soap operas, which one is Tariq Aziz in? Neighbours?).

Maybe those two t*ts that won it will be able to get some pocket money from a pizza chain, once they admit their careers are over?

I refuse to watch these kinds of programs but can imagine what it's like ! As for Ant and Dec - just another couple of overpaid, overrated talentless tosspots (and that is me trying to be kind and generous. I've decided not to argue any more on the internet so am trying to tone down my replies) ;)

If you've not seen them, I think you shouldn't comment since what you're commenting on is a preconception :)

Ant & Dec where great on SMTV. They have gone down a little of late though. Not the force they used to be.

I liked them on smtv as well, but I think the humor came from the fact they clearly didn't like children. Watching grown men reduce kids to tears was a great hangover cure ;)

As far as normal presenters go though, they just **** me off now.

Ian omitted a necessary graphic from his original post on this subject. I am happy to help in this regard ...
