I was listening to Massive Attacks' Protection today and really enjoyed every track bar one, their shockingly bad live cover of Light My Fire. It doesn't ruin the album for me because I now finish the album at Heat Miser.

It got me thinking about other albums, especially classics, that have one duff track.

The other one that came to mind was Paul Wellers' Wildwood, great album apart from the embarrassment that is Moon On Your Pyjamas

I'm off to find some more :)

Edit: Controversial I'm sure but Oasis What's The Story Morning Glory, Roll With It was Oasis by numbers.

Def Leppard - Hysteria - Rocket.
Metallica - Metallica (The Black Album) - Don't Tread On Me.
U2 - How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb - A Man And A Woman.

Abbey Road by The Beatles - Maxwell's Silver Hammer.

I defy anyone to find something worse than that. ;)

Made me laugh, then recoil in horror at how correct you are

Hot Dog, track from In Through The Out Door, Led Zeppelin.

Actually, most of the album is duff, but that was a shocking track.

will think of something later ... but, turning the question inside out ... as regards a duff album with one great track I would suggest:
Iron Maiden - No Prayer For The Dying (or NPFTD for Maidenites ;)) ... the title track being the only thing worth listening to on this bloody awful album (which came after the brilliant SSOASS)

Abbey Road -The Beatles - Octopus's Garden

Revolver - The Beatles - Yellow Submarine

They're both Ringo tracks and so ought to be excused anyway, but I think in any case they're works of towering genius compared with Maxwell's Silver Hammer. At least I can listen to OG or YS without my toes curling with embarrassment.

D'yer M'ker by Led Zep, horrendous track on an otherwise fine album, Houses of The Holy.

Er.....

Gnr - Use Your Illusion II......My World!!
