Went to the flicks yesterday. Watched "The Jacket" - not brilliant, but OK - better than I expected. Nice and grim. Too depressing and convoluted for some it seems. About three walkouts - Vicky Pollard types and shell-suited chav couples with matching Burbery caps if that's any indication. But the highlight of the day was John Waters' "A Dirty Shame" - his filthiest and most tasteless screen excursion in years!!! Just endless filth for the sake of it and loads of it too, yet strangely inoffensive in that inimitable Waters style. Educational too - now I know what a "Roman Shower" is. The Hokey Cokey will never be the same again, and as for the David Hasselhoff cameo - well my jaw hit the floor. Willl actors refuse this director nothing? And what a closing "shot". Literally!!! Region 1 DVD on June 14th (available in an cut and uncut versions. Hmm. Wonder which one to buy? ). Click! Kerching!
