    Hello folks,

We have a HP Compaq PC at work, which we are having to use to play video files, via a scalar, into a video server. Unfortunately, the quality and bit rate of the media files we receive has increased significantly in the last year or so; sometimes they are full 1080 HD files @ 50Mb/s. Needless to say, the graphics engine on this PC can't manage steady playback with some of these files, so I was wondering what graphics card I could add to it to get better video playback.
The processor is a Intel Core 2 6400 @ 2.13Ghz. It has the Intel Q965/Q963 Express Chipset with 2GB of RAM.

    Any suggestions gratefully received ...

    Philip

Any this or last generation card will do, the 4350 is a good choice if you just want this.

Be aware that it'll only work with codecs the graphics card supports, namely MPEG2/H.264/VC-1, and require software that supports it (e.g. Media Center Classic Home Cinema) so if your videos use different encoding or you need to use a particular player you may be looking at a CPU upgrade instead.
