Hello AVF,

I just bought a Grandview Fantasy 102068G 100" motorized projector screen for $475 after having initial bought a cheap screen for less than the half, since I wanted a gray screen (ambient light, white walls etc.)

However, I am not completely happy with my purchase so far. I like the gray fabric and everything else but the curly edges. This is my second Grandview unit as the first one was really bad in one corner. At the price, despite it not being tab-tensioned, I had expected curly edges not to go into the viewing area. It may be hard to see clearly, but the curling begins around 10 cm in the viewing area.

Is this normal or am I being too picky?

NB: Fixed is unfortunately not an option.

Having had an Optoma Panoview for several years and fitting a couple of Sapphires which are both made in the same factory as yours I would say it’s not normal. My Optoma was very flat. I see you also have sone ripples too on the bottom left, personally I would get it exchanged.

Just to keep fairness into the picture, the last picture is with light coming from the side (windows).

Below is a picture with the curtains covering the windows
