Grand suggestions, discretion required.

I am looking to upgrade the HT system and will be able to spend a bout £1000 give or take and need a reciever and 5.1 speakers.

I do not want bulky floorstanders so im thinking probably a more lifestyle system i guess to use in a room roughly 15ft by 13ft we watch moies mostly with some limited music listening via CD and Radio.

I would like to wall mount the speakers if poss, i understand soundstages and that are better with floorstanding sets but the girlfriend just wont go for that and besides with working with heavy machianry and that a lot my tonal hearing aint what it used to be.

there seems so many choices its very daunting for me so all suggestions would be most wellcome.
