    Hi guys
I have used gotsent to convert a couple of mkv files into mp4 for playback on the 360. Trouble is, the 360 cannot play them. All I get is the red circle with a line through it next to the filename and the video will not play.

I converted a mkv at work to mp4 and this played back fine.

    Anyone any ideas?

You might not have all the codecs.

Just installed this and given it a try......

Not only does it convert a 40 minute episode in around 15 minutes (compared to 2+ hours via Encode 360), but the resulting file has better picture quality when compared to the WMV file produced from Encode 360.

Right, I'm off to download and convert more MKVs. :)

The local football team failed (again) to provide entertainment. I'm hoping that some downloaded and converted MKV files will succeed where Cov. City failed. :)

Ok, i had used GOTSent before, but in Vista x64 it didn't work so I implemented an equivalent for it(it should work on any windows install with .NET farmework 2.0). It is intended to convert MKV files to XBOX 360 compatible MP4 container files with one click.
There is one thing I didn't implement.. you have to input the correct frame rate of the source file.. 23.976 default.
The thing that GOTSent can, and this cant is splitting when the file is over 4gb.. I plan to do this someday, but for the most part I convert TV shows, so there is no real need.

The program is really not bulletproof and if you do something else than browse for the file and folder, and input the FPS, I can't say when It will crash (no real testing done for that):)

But if you use it correct it works, and all the tools needed are in the zip, so nothing else needs to be installed.

This connection is kinda slow, so feel free to post this file anywhere you want.
