Ok so i had geometry problems with my 32ZP48 so i had a replacement delivered. This set is much better for geometry but i can hear a buzzing sound coming from inside the set,it seems to be located on the right hand side at the back, the sound comes from the fins.

Its annoying now because i know its there so i can always hear it :(

My other set didnt have this buzzing sound, the last thing i want is another replacement, digital direct will think im being picky and it is a load of hassle getting the set up 2 flights of spiral steps

Has anyone else noticed a buzzing sound?

The first 36zp48 I had started to make the buzzing sound when using component p/s. Replacment is fine.I think it is mentioned in the review thread.
I bought a 28zh47 for the bedroom, this also had a buzzing from the back right. The replacement was worse. You could hear it constantly, though only low volume in the bedroom. Ended up buying a 50hz 28zh44 instead which whilst not perfect is not noticeable. I asked Toshiba about this and they said it was a fault in the 100hz processing. The 36zp48 only did it on p/scan so who I don't think that is the case.
If you can live with it ok, otherwise back it goes, it's faulty. Whilst the product is good ,Toshiba's qc is very poor I'm afraid. 5 sets to get 2 decent ones can't be good for any company.

Mine does it on 100hz and progressive scan,i wish i never noticed it because its ruining everything i watch,as soon as theres a quiet moment i can hear it buzzing

My second set and i am going to have to call them again, this is stupid.I am not impressed with these sets,2 sets in a row with faults. :nono:

I will see what digital direct have to say,i hope a technician will at least try to sort it this time, last time they just said they would send a replacement.

I thought this was an issue with the scan coils in **ZP**s? Whether you get a buzzy one or not is just the luck of the draw.

OMG!!

I just got a letter from digitaldirect.uk asking me to pay £158 !! They say the set was fine and had no faults so i am being charged.

Were do i stand on this? The picture was distorted at the sides! I am regretting ever buying this set,its going to end up costing me £800 and i end up with a buzzing set

I should of just got an LCD :nono:

Ok update:

Just phone digital direct and spoke to a nice guy.. basically i pleaded my case.I explained that i was not offered an option of a technician visit to determine the fault,i simply had an answer machine message saying 'we will replace the set'.

So i managed to blag it and i only have to pay £25 courier fees instead of £158 :rotfl:

Very lucky too,my original email for the fault has been lost on their system due to a server change so they have no option.

I will put up with the buzzing but if it gets worse over time i will consider paying £50-60 for a tech to come and fix it if possible, which apparently it is.

I have no problems whatsoever on my 36zp48p. No buzzing on any modes. Its silent. The little geometry problem was easily sorted via the menu, although on such a size of crt tube its impossible to get no geometry issues. I was born lucky though.
A lot of ppl read into every little review detail and it puts ideas into ppl`s heads im afraid. I know you probably have a loud buzzing but dont look for problems in these tv`s.
Overall the Tosh is a great tv with minor niggles.

For example, ever seen SKY picture quality? Its awful, but ppl are quite prepared to shell out over £800 on a tv to watch that awful picture and pay £50 pcm for the pleasure! So, my point is for the price its a great crt, dependant on whats plugged into it, the most common minor geometry faults are not really worrying about.

My sky picture is exellent!! The pq is the best thing about the set,the buzzing will have to be put up with i suppose.

Strange how sky looks very good on my 32!" Maybe it just gets worse on the 36" due to screen size? I do have an exellent signal though were i live.
