Wayhey, just got my 504 this afternoon.
The best picture I have ever seen from a plasma. The picture is very natural, with rich colours, superb contrast, easy menus to navigate. The best explanation of the picture I can think of is it's very similar to philips pixel plus (I have a 32pw9525 in my bedroom) but without the forced overprocessed feeling that I get from my philips.
Even the sound is impressive from the side speakers that I opted for. I was supprised at this because I have had a Fujitsu P50XHA10 on loan from my dealer for the past month, and as it didn't have the speakers with it I was having to listen to everything through my all Tag Mclaren setup. So as you can imagine I thought I was going to be majorly dissapointed with the sound.
If your'e even thinking about trying the Fujitsu against the Pioneer, DON'T EVEN BOTHER!, the Pioneer is in a totally different league.
Even the tuner is pretty good. Not as good as sky, but watchable all the same. Dvd's are out of this world through my Tag Mclaren Dvd32R with Psm192 with no hint of motion blurring whatsoever, with crisp natural colours with Finding Nemo r1 and The Bourne Identity r2.
Only one slight dissapointment is the slight jerkiness on very slow pans on both tuner box and sky, but this is nowhere near as bad the Fujitsu. I'll get that sorted though, once I figure out how to get my sky+ box to output s-video into my Psm192. Anyone know how to get s-video from a sky box? All I can find in the settings is rgb or pal. Why does it have an s-video output if it can't do it?
As for HDMI, I haven't tried it, but with the quality of dvd + prog scan from my Tag, I can't see how HDMI is going to beat it.
So is it worth the money? Well no, no tellys worth six and a half grand. But would I buy it again? Bloody right I would!
Well thats my little report. I'm off to watch another dvd.:D

    Nice one.
I think you may be surprised by HDMI however.
By all accounts it is an improvement over prog scan...

BTW, my old Grundig 3000 Sky box had S-Video output.
No menu option - just plug directly into the S-Video socket.

    P.S. £6.5K?? I'm hoping that wasn't Sterling...

Unfortunatley, yes, that was the price I paid. My situation is pretty unique in that I am in a wheelchair so I cannot set the thing up myself. The price was however complete with speakers, stand and an hq seven metre component lead (chord). Plus one or two other bits and pieces. I've always used Sevenoaks (hull) for all my other gear, and not being able to get into their shop (it's upatairs) they have been great bringing loads of products to my house (30 miles away) to demo. I know I've paid a bit over the odds, but I'm happy with the sevice.

    P.s
Whatever you do, DON'T watch Richard & Judy on a 504. Judys wrinkles will scare you to death!

Well in that case, service is obviously paramount and it sounds like you get good service from your dealer. :smashin:
Throw in the extras and it sounds like you got a good deal.
My local dealer wanted £7k for a 503MXE...

I have absolutely no intentions of displaying Judy in widescreen 50". The thought alone is bad enough...

    What is that?
Is it pictures of fish and stuff with accompanying music?
Beats the effort associated with owning a fish tank I suppose

Just a wild guess based on the title but having since looked at your profile...

It actually sounds not bad though - could be good as chill out material.

I bought the aquaria dvd a long time ago, it is a double sided, dual layered dvd.

Its the only one that ive seen like it.

    Cheers,

    Graham
