I had a wii on pre-order from Oct , got the whole thing back today , spent over £500 on it and have to say , overall it's total and 100% crap.

I don't just mean slightly , but utter.

If you have any tv approaching any acceptable standards ( a la xbox 360 ) don't bother buying a wee (sic ) as it is laughably awful.

Zelda's graphics are an utter disaster , a massive mesh of indefinable colors interspersed into something a commodore 64 could handle without breaking into a sweat , and don't mention the laughable midi level soundtrack

The fact the big N actually package this ****** donut with a sub par composite lead ( bad enough with the N64 in 1997 , unforgiveable 10 years later ) speaks volumes of their total disregard for real gamesplayers values and total regard for nintendo shareholders , to wit , cut the cost maximize the profit

ie;

Buyers beware

We are entering a new threshold in computer gaming and so far , in my experience , and looking to the real future , microsuck and sony are paving the way

RIP Nintendo

If you've been spoilt by the 360 then you're expecting too much to be honest.

To me Zelda looks like a cleaner version of Ocarina of Time. And in my opinion, and probably many other's, that's no bad thing.

Do yourself a favour and try and source a component cable before you get rid of your Wii, it might just help you change your mind.

Sure, I think the Wii is underpowered and not great looking. But persuading the girlfriend to stand next to me and wave her arms around like a loon.... Worth every penny.

I bought a lot of games ( call me stupid )

After buying a 360 and being very impressed I naturally assumed the big N could come up ith the goods , sadly I was left deflated

Well everybody is entitled to their opinion I suppose though this particular one seems to be unique.

What impressed you about the 360?

I have had one for a year and only in the last month or so has there been any games worth buying for it.
Only Gears of War comes close to Zelda in my opinion.

It is not all about graphics, there has to be a game in there as well.

The Wii simply isn't about the visuals, and never has been. If you were to comment specifically about the quality of the gameplay in something, the build-quality and ergonomics of the Wiimote, load-times, ANYTHING rather than complaining about the graphics then you might be taken seriously. Simply put, if you're expecting a crisp, clean, bump-mapped, HDR-saturated, next-gen feast for the eyes, you've bought the wrong console. You're not the target market. I wouldn't expect you to enjoy it.

Heh, PSU looks bad cos Sega just ported the PS2 version for a quick buck. You only have to check the Achievments for it to see how much of a rush job it is. Eight Achievements, 1000 gamerpoints, and they're all for killing the bosses in story mode. Hardly very imaginative

A component cable and progressive scan do improve the picture, though obviously it'll never look as smooth as the 360. If you've played NTSC Gamecube games in progressive scan you'll have a good idea of what to expect.

As it has been soooo well documented in the months leading up to the release of the Wii that its graphics could not compete with that of the 360 or PS3, what, in the name of God, pocessed you to buy one?

As you most obviously hold graphical power above all else (what's game play anyway?:lease: ) i would have thought you would have been better off with something else to spend your money on (such as a new graphics card))

All those games that you mention are good, Oblivion even very good.Non come close to Zelda or the fun that I have had with the Wii in the last few days.

If you fancy selling without all the games (maybe a one or two) then I may be intrested to buy it.

PM me if you are intrested

Those three games are hardly 'amazing'.... Fight Night is riduclously boring and plays very unimpressively, call of duty 2 whilst good is only replicating what a million PC games before it had done, and Oblivion is essentially a PC game on a console, hardly groundbreaking.

I have both a 360 and Wii, and spend more time on the Wii because the games have substance, where as the vast majority of 360 titles just become boring after the initial 'wow' of the games hi-def graphics.

You utter trolling cretin

Maybe you should do some proper investigation and look at buying a TV which isnt utter garbage with SD (which ALL Sony LCD's are) because if you dont then you are going to get a garbage picture with the Wii. Dont tell me you didnt even invest in a Component lead for the Wii and you are running it through the composite cable you got with the console...

The Wii looks great on my 50" Panasonic PH9 running through component, of course it doesnt match the 360 but it still looks fantastic in its own Wii way :D

Hold on, didn't the 360 come with a Composite lead as standard?
I am sure the pack I bought did anyway.

The Core came with a composite cable, the Premium came with a Component/Composite cable.

Oh, I missed that bit about a Sony LCD.

That explains a lot.

Get a decent TV such as a Panny Plasma, it will look alright then.
