    Mud,
The Seleco models are generally very reliable.
To avoid burn in, Barco's have a pause button that allow the tubes to be off while the PJ is working. Does your 420 have anything like that which may be on without you knowing. Just a thought.

    Anybody.

    Mud,
Uncle Eric has hit on the first thing I'd try - MUTE. This gives exactly the symptom you describe.

After that, I would look at whether one of the small plug in circuit boards has come loose due to vibration. This sometimes happens when the projector is mounted below a bedroom or when there is a particular bass frequency that causes sympathetic resonance in the projector chassis. Either way, the cure is simple. Just push the cards back in place and then secure with a small blob of silicon.

As a side note, when I was with Owl we sold some 400's to a simulator manufacturer. They were mounted in the ride capsule so were subjected to the same vibrations and shocks as the passengers. We siliconed just about everything and they worked great.

Speak to your dealer about checking the seating of the protection card and the power supply daughter boards.

    Regards

Move the projector into the bedroom.

It will solve all the problems.
