Google Wallet verification

Has anyone come across this google wallet verification thing? I tried to buy an app on my Android phone and the payment failed. So, had a look at my Google Wallet and it says I need to verify my account. To do so, I need to scan in my drivers license, or passport etc along with a utility bill! All seems a bit OTT considering the app is £1.50. I've been buying things no probs for years...

Strange I've never heard of this. I'd try buying the app on your computer and see if it let's you. If it doesn't then I guess it's legit, if it does then sounds strange. Do you have antivirus on there?

Same thing when i try on the computer.
As soon as i log into the Google Wallet site, i get greeted with a verification page.

"We were unable to verify the credit or debit card information for your recent order. Your order has been cancelled and your card was not charged. Rest assured that Google is committed to preserving the security of your information and providing a safe online shopping experience.

To resolve this issue, you'll need to scan the following verification documents to your computer and then upload them below.

If you don't have a scanner, please click here.

Until we receive and verify the requested documents, future orders will not be processed. Please do not create additional accounts.

If you choose not to submit these verification documents, your account will remain suspended and you will not be able to place orders or access your Google Wallet account."

Annoying. Guess i'll have to do it, but really 'cba' at the moment!

I'd ring Google or email and try and get a reason for why it has been blocked.
